doodolls, the range of neutered soft toys

Kelly's post on her "Patchy Pinkie Pirate the neutered rabbit with obscene ears" reminded me that I have these photos:

Mine is Cocoman! And he's neutered too, as you can see :D

being girly

Skin Care:

What facial cleanser do you use?

L'oreal Hydrafresh instant freshness foaming gel, Olay total effects cleanser (to fight multiple signs of aging...I'm starting early, although old age and aging skin is imminent T_T), Biotherm Biopur pure cleansing gel.

What moisturiser do you use?

Body Shop's Seaweed daily shine control with SPF 15 for day, Ella Bache Lurophase equalizing emulsion for night. Ella Bache is the bestest smartest moisturiser I've ever tried; keeps the dry patches moisturised and the oily patches matte.

How many times a day do you wash your face?
Twice, not more than thrice.

Do you use eye makeup remover?
Of course. Don't want to get eye infections, especially for contact lens users.

If so, what kind?

Nivea Visage extra gentle eye makeup remover.

Is your skin oily, dry or combination?
Combination.

What is the best part about your skin?
Wrinkle free (for now) and no dark circles (due to small eyes).

What are your skin problems?
Oily patches, acne, blackheads and whiteheads.

Makeup:

What foundation do you use?

L'oreal True Match (bestest smoothest ever!) and Maybelline Express Makeup 3 in 1.

What powder do you use?

My favourite is Silky Girl's 2-way foundation with sunscreen and Vitamin E, works as a pressed powder or add a little water/moisturiser to turn it into foundation. It's so good, I only use a layer, it's a good combination of foundation + powder + sunscreen. But that compact is empty, and my current replacements are Lancome and Silky White (because they're both free).

What eyebrow pencil do you use?

I don't use pencils, I use this little compact of Maybelline eyebrow powder. Which I've dropped countless times, as you can see.

What eyeliner do you use?

A mixture of ciplak brands. I bought the brown and black ones from a budget shop in Australia, the same shop where Kelly bought her invisible bra. The other two are new ones from a cosmetic store in Mid Valley Megamall.

What is your favourite eyeshadow?
I'm not an eyeshadow person. It's hard to apply when you have single eyelid.

What mascara do you use?
My favourite is Maybelline's Great Lash which they don't produce anymore T_T. So I'm making do with L'oreal's Lash Architect and Maybelline's Volum' Express Turbo Boost (whoa!) which are not bad at all.

What are your favourite lipbalms/glosses/sticks?
Gosh, I use a lot. I have so many that I always forget to use them. I've recently cleaned out my makeup stuff and chucked a lot of old and mouldy things. Below are my favourite few:

L-R: Maybelline Jelly Plumpy, Lipice Color, ChapStick Flava Craze and 2 Shu Uemura lipsticks.

And the glosses! Coco Paris Lip Gloss (from the same cosmetic shop in Mid Valley), Silky Girl (yes, I damn like Silky Girl ok), Maybelline Water Shine 3D Essence.

Hair:

Do you colour your hair?
I have done that before, but I swear I'm only ever going to use those DIY kits from now on. Gentler and less pricey. After the last colour, my ends are like straw.

What is your stylists name?
Don't have a particular stylist. I go to Aunty Sindy at USJ 14 for the simple trims and washes. I got my bob from some salon near MMU Melaka. My colour, cat bangs and hair relaxer from Peekaboo at TTDI.

What salon do you go to?
As mentioned above. I think I'll try Spazio at SS15, recommended by a colleague. Apparently the stylist is really good with short hair.

What is your natural hair colour?
Dark brown with terrible streaks from exposure to too much chlorine and sunshine.

What is your hair colour now?
Some mixture that Mi from Peekaboo did for me.

Do you have straight or curly hair?
Wavy and frizzy.

Do you use a curling iron?
Nope, although I have one. Bought on a whim when I had long hair and wanted to try curls.

A straightener?
Yes, can't live without one. My backup plan and lifesaver.

What kind?
Vidal Sasson Slim Ceramic Professional Straightener.

Do you use a blowdryer?
Yes.

Do you use gel and if so, what kind?
No.

Do you use mousse and if so, what kind?
No.

What shampoo do you use?

That's my favourite shampoo of all time! Makes your hair all soft, buttery smooth and shiny like a Disney princess'. But that bottle is empty T_T and am currently using Sunsilk (the orange bottle).

What conditioner do you use?

Dove moisture milk conditioner (the best after Redken's All Soft) and L'oreal Elseve.

Do you use leave in conditioner?

I used to put it on religiously. L'oreal Intense Repair is extremely good, even on frizzy hair like mine. Previously when I had rebonded hair, I used it and it became even softer and smoother, like how is that possible on already shiny rebonded hair? My mom ran her fingers through my hair once and was like wow, it does work! Yet again, that bottle is finishing T_T and my backup is Sunsilk. Yes, I tend to keep the bottles/compacts of my favourite products after I finish it, so that I remember the shades and brands that I like.

Scents:

What deodorant do you use?

I only ever use Nivea or Dove, because my pits get itchy when my sweat reacts with other brands. Not a pretty sight. Only those two brands are gentle enough.

What body wash do you use?
Whatever Mom buys, most of the time it's Shokubutsu.

Do you use a loofah or washcloth?
I use that poufy thingy.

What perfumes do you use or like? Name five.

My favourite five: Ralph by Ralph Lauren, Ralph Lauren Glamourous, Pure White Linen by Estee Lauder, Lancome's Miracle and Body Shop's Moonflower. I also like DKNY Green Apple but I don't have it *hintmybirthdaynextmonthhint*

Do you always have to smell good?
You can skip the perfume, but please not the deodorant.

Jewelry:

Are diamond's really a girl's best friend?
I don't know, I don't have any.

What is your jewelry essential?
Earrings.

What jewelry do you wear most?
Earrings.

What jewelry do you crave most?
Earrings d'uh.

Purses & Shoes:

How many purses do you own?
Ya mean wallet? I have 1 wallet and 1 coin purse which I use to keep receipts.

Which is your favourite?
Urm, not much of a choice there.

How many shoes do you own?
At last count, it was about 23 pairs which was many months ago. I probably have closer to 30 pairs now, but am too lazy to count.

Which pair is your favourite?
They are all my babies *heart*

Who is your favourite handbag designer?
Urm, don't have a particular favourite.

Who is your favourite shoe designer?
Urm, not exactly into designer stuff.

This or that:

Manolos or Jimmy Choos?
Manolos, because they look so good in Sex & The City.

Dolce and Gabbana or Chanel?
Uhh...

Michael Kors or Bebe?
Ahh...

Louis Vuitton or Coach?
How can you compare Coach to LV?

Gucci or Prada?
As you can tell I don't know my designers at all.

Miscellaneous:

Favourite magazine to read?
Reader's Digest. I kinda stopped reading women's mags, I only pick it up occasionally and it's usually Women's Weekly. I like Australian Cosmopolitan, but can't get it here.

Favourite nail polish?

My favourite four! Revlon and Rimmel. Of course it cannot beat OPI. Sally Hansen is really good too, but so expensive that I only sanggup spend on the nail strengtheners.

Favourite book?
There are too many to name.

Favourite band?
No Doubt.

Favourite girly movie?
Probably The Devil Wears Prada and She's The Man. Liang is damn unfair, I always teman him watch macho movies (I wasn't that keen on watching Die Hard 4.0 bleargh) but he seldom teman me watch girly movies. (I wanted to watch 27 Dresses. He said ok and next thing I know, he bought the DVD -_-)

Are you high maintenance?
Probably not.

Do you enjoy being a girl?
Most of the time.

bon odori 2008

Last night we attended Bon Odori for the first time. We were quite late actually...started around 7pm, and we were there only at 8pm. The crowd is mad! Extremely long queues for extremely expensive food. There was a stall which was sold out while we were in line, so we ended up with fish cakes, takoyaki and yakisoba for dinner, after which Lynn & Yen Nie disappeared to terrorise people with their DSLRs. Then we sat around, watched the dancers and snapped photos. It ended after 9pm, and we had our real dinner at the 24 hour KFC at Petronas in USJ 20. It wasn't anything much actually, just a lot of wannabe Japanese people; I dunno how they tahan in those yukatas/kimonos in the crazy heat! Maybe we should go earlier next year (if we intend to go again, that is). Pictures below...

The crowd

The real Japanese people dancing on the stage, with fake Japanese people dancing around the stage haha

Liang dancing

Ice cream is GOOD!

The fight! Liang's shirt says: My mum can smash anyone. Chew's shirt says: Yes, I'm a wrestler. No, I won't fight you. Yes, I have a cape. No, you can't wear it.

belly dancing

I watched my very first belly dancing performance last night at the Petronas Philharmonic Hall in KLCC. The cast includes Hossam Ramzy the tabla (a type of drum) player, his band of Egyptian musicians and his wife – Serena – the belly dancer. The whole night everyone was just staring at Serena’s belly and hips…is it even humanly possible to shimmy like that? Very beautiful and controlled dancing, and her costumes kept getting prettier and prettier! I didn’t know until last night that belly dancing costumes could be one piece as well; always thought it was all two-piece clothing!

Which brings me back to BAT media night last year where there was a belly dancing performance, which was pretty much shitty. The girl was stick thin and had no curves at all! It was like watching a papan trying to move. Goes to show that a little flesh is really sexy. Serena in comparison was really fluid and graceful. Even when she wore a costume that covered up her assets, you could still see her shaking it. Hossam himself was really entertaining and quite the comedian. I would watch them if they ever come here again. The tickets only cost RM34 after discount; even at full price, RM42, I feel that the performance was well worth the money. Also bumped into Alex Balex, whose sister does belly dancing with one of my colleagues (I think).

Watched 21 over the weekend. It's so clever! But I still don't like Kate Bosworth's ugly forehead. Gonna watch Hancock tonight :D

When? Sat 12 Jul 2008 (7pm onwards)
