Happy National Day

Malaysia, our dear country, tanah tumpah darahku.

Sometimes hor, I really fucking hate Malaysia. The tropical weather makes us sweat like babi, turning us all into sticky smelly people. I hate the stupid inefficient Metrobus, it used to make me late for classes. I hate all the stupid ah bengs that catcall in their broken English. I hate the stupid bald tiboo who asked me to be "friends" on the bus. I hate that I can't bring my dog to the playground anymore. I hate the education system that teaches us to answer question papers instead of teaching us real knowledge. Seriously, our education system is doing nothing for para anak Malaysia; because when I came to Australia to study, I had a fucking hard time trying to cope and learn things that people here already know how to do by 5th Grade. Spoonfeed our kids sumore lar, hah! I hate that everytime I take a cab, I have to be careful not to engage in chatter lest he decides to kidnap me and make me roast pig - oh wait, I'm already a char siu - whatever la. I benci how people are so stupid that they don't know how to queue up; pushing and shoving to get up the bus, squeezing into the monorail even when it's already packed like fucking sardine and some. I hate the stupid mat rempits that used to sit at their workshop behind the bus stop at SS14, they used to stare at the college girls through their BINOCULARS and my poor friend kena-ed. It's a freaking tropical country and we have to tutup aurat otherwise they cry "serves her right for dressing indecently". I hate the stupid motherfucker who raba my ass when I was drooling over FatMan Lok Lok at the pasar malam. Mahai. What kind of country are we living in?

But. Despite all her misgivings, I love living in this country. You tell me, where else in this world can we get an awesome fusion of food, inspired by the mix of cultures? Culinary delights are definitely a big plus. Where else can we find a good mamak with cheap food to lepak till the wee hours of the morning? In fact...where on this whole bulat planet can so many races live in peace and harmony (almost lar, but we're war free aight)? A friend once told me about an ang moh pastor who came to Malaysia. Lo and behold, he was AMAZED. Why? Because he thought that Malaysians still live in trees...huh, wtf right? Living amongst mixed cultures allows us to broaden our perspectives and learn different things about each other. It keeps us from being ignorant (like said ang moh pastor, tsk tsk). Ever heard about a bunch of Singaporean kids who never saw live chickens? Yea, a friend once went over for children's church ministry and when asked to draw a chicken, the kids drew chicken meat cling wrapped like how chicken is sold at the supermarket. Sad case. Where do we get the privilege to easily pick up more than one language and/or dialect? People here in Brissy find it intriguing that I can speak English. Warao, insulting? Not really. It's just them being ignorant.

I don't really understand why people have so much to complain about Malaysia. This lar that lar...you know, you're part of this country. Learn to love it. We are so free to choose how we live our lives, up to the point that we can choose our religion without mortal fear. Don't you realise how some people are chucked into jail and executed simply because of the faith they selected? Because we live amongst such a variety of customs and traditions, we are actually capable of learning and accepting others as they are. Worried about racism in Malaysia? I'll scornfully laugh at you. One racist bastard here equals to all the racist bastards in Malaysia. That's how many more there are in other countries, count your lucky stars that there aren't many at home who will point and shout and jeer at you, "GO HOME FUCKING ASIAN" or throw an egg at you just cause the shade of your skin is different from theirs.

I'm also very annoyed at how some people regard any "white people" nation as superior and place them upon a pedestal. What? Barangan buatan Malaysia not good enough? There are people who sanggup fork out extra money for imported "goods" just because they think the quality is better. Hello? You're paying extra for the tax and cost of import lar, dungu. Not everything overseas is better okay. Granted, we may lack in certain stuff, but not in everything. Vegetables are sweeter at home, we have great things like belacan and petai (petai here have to buy Yeo's canned type, so kesian) and we have GREAT BANANAS. (goood news for Gary! hehe) One comb of bananas here cost us a whole carton of bananas at home T_T and they don't even have the small and sweet type! When we decide to buy imported goods, our money flows out of the country thus making us poorer. Ok lar, not everything local is up to par, but increasingly, there are more locally produced stuff that are cheap AND good. What's the harm in giving our country a little support?

One last reason why I love Malaysia: damn a lot of holidays =D
So many festivities and so many Sultans...all their birthdays hehe! Best sial...over here holidays are so rare. Cis.

Aih. When will people learn to understand and love their country? It's sad to see people who keep wanting to leave the country when Malaysia can be so amazing. I might want to travel and experience the world, but there's no where else on this sphere that I'd rather live in.

God Bless Malaysia.

HAPPY MERDEKA EVERYONE!!!

love from a sorta patriotic pork,

Redang tio pawn by us (Finale)

Sorry for the late post =( Lately, I've been addicted to "House" . Now, it's time for the last part of Redang tio pawn.

Garyman hates watermelon...

papaya....

BUT he loves

The Bananaboat ! *Aya too excited until she ter-block Ken's face*

The ride was certainly a blast. We are too good to be handled and the boat that was pulling us have to go round and round until they managed to dropped us.

They are suppose to drop us 3 times only and after the third time, we were not satisfied. We purposely try to fall into the sea for the 4th time when we were on the way back to the shore. 2 people managed to fall and it's Gary and Aya. So the guy have to turn back and pick them up. Aya climbed up first the ladder into the boat that pull us around and Gary's next. He tried to climbed back to the boat but he kept falling into the sea. After few tries, one of the guy decided to help him by pulling his lifejacket. The best part was, the guy fell down together into the sea when he's trying to help =.=" They managed to climbed into the boat back and the guy that helped gary said "Aku dah berkerja lama kat sini dan inilah kali pertama saya jatuh dan basah. Biasa nyer saya la yang jatuhkan orang"

The picture above was taken on the last day of the trip. Mesra? Hawz! Hawz! Hawz! Of course, we gonna miss the island. *sniffs*

Man, I just love to disturb Ken and Aya *Okay, not only them but CharSiu too*. I wonder why . I realised most of the pictures of them, there's me! Below are all their pictures after checking out from resort

*I just want to take pic with both of you =(*

*Aya and her bunny*

*The Garyman can~*

*The Family*

*Kesian Ken kena kacau by me and Char Siu*

*CharSiu: Kacau not enuf..hrm?*

*speechless*

*QQ-Gary*

Bunny:*sniffs sniffs*

*no ENTERy*

Hella lots of pictures and that's all for the last part of Redang! We will pwn another island soon. The trip was superb and able to watch world cup at night when we're over there. A bottle of tequila, cans of Tiger which makes me feel sexy like Jessica Alba makes the night interesting. w00t!

love blossoms

This is my friend, Chew Teck Seng.

*photo stolen from his Friendster. Seal of quality!*

He is also known as Chewbaka, Abudhabi and DaSaint, but most affectionately known as Chew. Chew has been and still is my sifu when it comes to talking crap. During Form 5, while everyone else was studying for SPM (or pretending to) he would teach me damn a lot of crappy nonsense e.g. the equation that ends up with 4+4= BANANA! We used to chat and laugh a lot in class but most of the time, I'm the one laughing. Shit, I miss those days. Those crazy hours in school. I've known you for 7 years now, and you're every bit as crazy and crappy as you used to be.

This is Tan Hui Ling.

*second from left. photo taken end of Form 5*

Hui Ling! Some people call her Amy. She's my friend and neighbour, lives literally a stone's throw away. Jade introduced me to you in Standard 5 and we've been friends ever since? That's 11 years of friendship whoa~ We used to play badminton at "the lorong" together with our younger brothers. Hui Ling is the brainy one but make no mistake, she works hard for her brilliant results and whatever glories she has today, she EARNED it. She's the one who keeps our high school gang together. Although we were never best friends, you are one of the girls who have been close by all these years. Aside from Jade, you're the only friend I've known for more than 10 years and still keep in contact with. Thanks for the friendship =)

~

And because these two people are now happily in love and discovering the joys of a relationship and all that jazz, I'd like to congratulate them, and wish them all the best in their endeavours. Happy lah. For some unknown reason, everyone else is delirious about this news. I have no idea why. See lar, what kinda effect you both have on us. =D

Love you both to bits!

Today.

I overslept and missed the bus. Twice. T_T Which made me late half an hour. I sheepishly grinned at my tutor and snuck as quietly as possible to the back of the class. I took a seat and whipped out my paper. Everyone else was scribbling on their worksheets. Waitaminute...

What worksheet?! O_o

Damn that lecturer again. She keeps posting up the worksheets damn late. She wants us to read the stuff on the worksheet and prepare for class. My class is on Monday morning, 10am. And last night/this morning at 3am, I checked the damned student website but it wasn't there. Pray tell me, how the hell am I supposed to read anything if it isn't there? Sigh. This is not the first time. Now I know how tutors feel when students hand up their stuff late >_<

***

For no particular reason, today I'm damn relaxed. Had class, bought some groceries, came home to have lunch and chat with the bf. Merdeka's rolling around and there's this Project Happy Malaysia thing circulating the blogosphere. It's about some happy thoughts/memories/stories? thing in conjunction with our National Day celebrations. I tried to think of any happyfying stuff in that area but hmm...either my brain chao ta-ed or there's none. *I'm sure there are some, just can't think of any =/*

On the way home, I bought this:

*Darrell Lea's Rocklea Road. White chocolate, peanuts & fluffy marshmallow*

It's for my housemate, Kat. She's done with her internship and is flying off for a holiday in Sydney with her friend before going home to Germany. She leaves on Wednesday. I'll miss her, sniff. =(

Some random bits o' my week:

I got a new mole on my left hand. Why do we get new moles?
Baked a chocolate cake today. Nyum~

Can't get over Snoopy. He's adorable ^_^

It rained heavily today. Spring is coming!

post birthday~

Finally fixed up the photos. Here they are:

CAKE!

At midnight, I was surprised with a cake from Kelly, Patrick and SiuYook. That's SiuYook on the phone scolding me for taking a long shower at the wrong time. Hehe~

Thanks for the cake! =D

After that, woke up at noon to meet Kelly & Patrick for lunch at West End. 3 Monkeys is one of the must try cafes in Brisbane and we stuffed ourselves full of cheese!

There was nachos with sour cream, salsa & cheese, chicken lasagna heavy with cheese served with salad, and a slice of caramel cheesecake with cream on the side. This cafe is famous because it has good cake and it's one of the very few places that open past 9-10pm. The cheesecake was HEAVY and COMPACT. Patrick said that the fat content in one spoonful of that cake is equal to the fat content of 20 spoons of whipped cream. Kelly said she could "feel the fat oozing down to the thighs". *rofl* But the food was too good to resist hor? ;)

After that, we walked to SouthBank (an upmarket area by the Brisbane river) and went shopping at the Weekly Art & Craft flea market. The market is held every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Me and Kelly saw a lot of things to buy >_> In the end, we couldn't resist and bought a dress each =p This one is mine:

Satisfied with our purchases, we had a stroll along the river. It's a very romantic spot at night. There are even some restaurants where you can sit and have your meal by the river. Of course, they cost a bomb. We took some photos while resting.

Behind us is the city centre and the Brisbane river. Uni is to the --> of the photo.

Patrick tak steady! Need flash to take photo~

After that, they went home and I met up with my friends for dinner at Hanaichi Restaurant. We went there and act posh. Had sushi and sake. *we had the cheapest sake, but ssshhh* Sorry no photos of the food! Everything got gobbled up super fast.

Clockwise from me: Evie, Bec, Bec's boyfriend Luis and Mike my friend from Kuching. Thanks for dinner! They didn't let me spend a cent. We had drinks after that at the Down Under pub. I got a massage at the pub! First time I see waitresses offering massages to the people at a pub. She will massage you for 3 minutes, and you can pay her whatever you reckon the massage was worth. The place has cheap drinks and we had $2 shots. The shots that night were Sambuca shots; hmm, tasted like liquorice *that black candy which is a bit bitter* to me. Was alright, but not really my flavour. For some reason, we were really tired that day *work + uni* so we headed home soon after. I walked to the bus stop to find that I missed the last bus by 1 minute. ONE FREAKING MINUTE. Dang. So I took the train home lor.

When I arrived home, Daniel my housemate *also same birthday as me!* gave me something...

Sparkling white wine. Damn, I didn't buy him anything, pai seh. So I cooked dinner for him and his girlfriend that Sunday. *photos with Kelly, will post them next round* The wine was good. Very. Very. Good.

Oh! And here's what Mike gave me...

SNOOPY! Cute hor? But wait...he's not just plain Snoopy. He's ....

...WEBCAM SNOOPY!!! Ultra cute! *melts* Girls are suckers for cute stuff.

His nose is the camera. Eeeeeeeee! Cute. =)

After chatting with SiuYook, I crashed. Zzz~

a bajillion THANK YOU's

THANK YOU baby~!!!!!

It was a nice surprise =)

Am very tired but happy. Will blog about it when I get all the photos! My stupid camera decided to be cranky and deleted some photos, grrr.

I am feeling very lazy now...feel like being a pig. Just had a slice of my birthday cake. Strawberry jam yang pekat in the middle and a strawberry on top. Strawberry OTT betul.

The French girls are back from their holiday at the Whitsunday Islands. I went to pee and found the toilet unflushed, with toilet paper soaked in period. I pressed the full flush. Urgh.
*toilets here have two flushes. half flush when you buang air kecik, full flush for air besar.*

I've got tons of work to do. Need to start on assignments. Peer critiques. Readings. Need to watch a film with my classmates and review it. Read Shakespeare...CURSES it's dam hard to read ye olde English. Laundry. 6000 word novella OMG I haven't written a single word. Major research essay about Hamlet and/or Richard III (who?!). My new VISA still yet to come! *begins to panic and hyperventilate*

I need a second brain T_T

Thankfully, I'm still feeling the buzz from yesterday. So it's all good (I hope).

Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes. I was out the whole day and got spammed on MSN until I went --> @_@ You guys are great. Kel, not so great; for he cursed me with wrinkles. BOO to you, you...you CROSS DRESSER you! But...it's okay. Garyman gonna download all six seasons of Sex & The City for me ^_^ yay Gary, muax!

Tis seems to be the season of tests. The testing of our patience. Our dignity. Our integrity. Our loyalties. Literal tests also lar, mid-semester exams coming right up, but I don't have exams =D bless the nature of my course.

To a certain emo friend, all will be well. Changes come, it's to be expected. Human lives are not stagnant (or we'd still be in napkins sucking on our thumbs) and changes should be embraced. If things are meant to be, it will work out eventually.

To another certain emo friend, you made your decision based on your best knowledge and intention at the time. Try not to live with regrets, but make the best out of every situation. I know, I understand that it's hard. But I know you'll make it, and remember that we as your friends will always support you.

To yet another emo friend, I give you a bajillion hugs today. I'll gladly listen if you need to rant and bitch and curse, for what is a friend for, if not to lend a shoulder. I feel honoured that you should share your thoughts and feelings with me. All I can say is, take charge. Your life is yours, don't bend to the will of others...no matter who they may be. And matters of the heart? The best things come to you when you least expect it.

For my three emo friends, I'm sure you're macho enough to pull through. So...BE A MAN hehe.

***

Random thoughts of the day:

1. I just found out that my brother's girlfriend's birthday falls on the same day as my Dad. I'm too blur to notice o_o. He gave her a handmade necklace and a handmade bookmark. I wish all guys would learn from him. He's the sweetest most romantic guy I know! Jie loves you, Adrian.

2. Adrian used to suck his thumb as a baby. And it was my fault. Cuz he was crying one day, and he wouldn't stop even when I buaikan him in the sarong. (that thing with the spring where you attach a sarong, chuck the baby inside and buai to help the baby sleep) Dunno whether he needed to eat/diaper change or I buai too hard, he still won't SHUT THAT TRAP. So I took his right thumb and stuffed it into his mouth. That shut him up alright. Years later when he quit sucking his thumb and I told him about it, he was like...wtf -__________-"

3. I grew closer to Mom over the past few years and I told her about the time I beheaded Barbie Doll. I'm glad I waited so long to tell her. Cuz she would have thrown a fit and rotan me if she found out last time XD After I told her the story of beheaded Barbie and she finished laughing, she admitted that she WOULD have been pissed and rotan-ed me years ago. She doesn't know about Adrian's thumb sucking. I daren't tell her. =X

A million thanks again to everyone for the loving wishes be it msn, sms, phonecalls, tagboard wishes, blog wishes! Love you all mucho mucho. <3

Special thanks to:
My family, for everything that they've given me and so much more.
My SiuYook, for the immense amount of love and support.

behold, the first food post!

I just realised that this "animaling" blog doesn't even have a food post yet, hence decided to post the very first one ^_^ It's not much, but it's still food =p

cheese and egg sandwich

Last week I had a craving for eggs so I decided to make that *points up* cuz my pantry isn't very urm...prosperous at the moment. So lazy to buy groceries >_< *slurp* Anyway, wanted to show the sandwich before the next bit cuz...once you read it, you'll be kinda grossed out...heh.

Remember the dirty French girls? Oh, they are dirty, so very dirty. Before I go on, I'd like to say that not all French girls are dirty. Just these two who happen to be my current housemates. Yay, lucky me >_>

This house has six rooms, six occupants, and two bathrooms. All five girls share the nicer bathroom while the only guy is content with the lesser (and colder brrr) bathroom. So, dahlah FIVE people share one bathroom plus the fact that the cleaner only comes once every three weeks, obviously the bathroom gets dirty real quick. Dirty as in, loads of hair on the floor, toothpaste stuck to the sink, dust on the mirror and a pretty-gross-but-still-usable toilet bowl.

Because of the dirtiness, and because Kelly can't stand dirt, she decided to be a good samaritan and cleaned the bathroom. She requested for gloves and I chucked a pair over to her and wished her good luck. *nah, I just gave her an amused smile heh* With steely determination, Kelly marched to the bathroom and proceeded to clean it.

Oh the poor girl, such things to witness. How awful, how terrible, how traumatic!

The dustbin was filled to the brim with used sanitary napkins and *ulp* they were unwrapped. Like, just gulung and chuck into the bin =S Poor Kelly wanted to take out the trash but when she opened it, the sight of unwrapped-used-smelly-stinking-disgusting-vomit-inducing pads greeted her. She quickly replaced the bin lid. At this point of the story, I was already speechless and staring at Kelly like O_O

Alas, that was not all. The dirty girls decided to be even more disgusting than they already are. Kelly lifted up the toilet seat to find *gasp!* period stain on the inside of the bowl. And it was strategically placed so that the flush can't wash it away. Y'know, the part BEFORE the water comes out. Oh. My. God. Horror of horrors. At this stage, I was having difficulty breathing and wanted to collapse in shock. Naaah, I was going "OMGOMGOMGOMG..." while Kelly continued her story.

Unfortunately, that wasn't the only encounter Kelly had with period stains. One fine day she went to the toilet and found *groan* period stain ON THE TOILET SEAT. @_@ What the hell lar...dunno how to wipe your pu55y is it?! RAWR! Disgusting beeches #@$%^! So Kelly took tissue and scrubbed it furiously with soap and water. If you know that you're having your damn auntie visit, freaking make sure you don't mess up the toilet lar! >=( wtf man...

Sigh, why la, such housemates. But good news though; they are leaving in November ^_^ I hope the people who replace them are cleaner than them. Oh well, at least the dirty French girls aren't as bad as the Irish boys. But that's a story for another day =)

***

I remember Aya's post about long distance relationships. It was a short post, but it got me thinking. Yea, I guess it's worth it that's why people try. For me, I'm just a sucker for SiuYook.

For what it's worth, I hate LDR. What fun can it be that you spend everyday thinking about that person, missing that person, being emo... T_T I really hate it. And there are friends who try to console and comfort saying that it's easy to keep in touch these days. Cheap overseas IDD call cards. MSN Messenger. Skype. And we even maple together.

But you see, that's precisely the problem. *inward sigh*

Everytime we chat via maple/MSN, I feel like hearing his voice. So, we Skype.
Everytime we chat on Skype, I feel like seeing his face. So, we webcam. *thanks Kelly for pinjam-ing me your webcam ^_^*

And everytime I see him on webcam...I wish I could touch him. I want to touch his face and hug him.

But I can't. *sniffles*

I can stick my face inches to the screen and stare at his image, but that is all I get. An image of him. =/

Sometimes I wish that there wasn't anyway to contact him but by mail. Then I won't have all these things to remind me of how very much I miss him.

And I do miss you, bee. Very much. =~

till we meet again <3>

Ok lar peeps, don't be emo like me. EAT and be MERRY! hurhur...

till the next post...

introducing...

KUACI~! ^_^

Kuaci is the teeny bundle of fur that SiuYook bought for me. He is currently residing in Malacca, being stuffed to the max - you should see his bowl of food >_> and ocassionally poked and prodded by curious fingers belonging to the Chew brothers.

*sorry for the blurry photo. kuaci's movements are erratic and he's one helluva hard creature to capture with the lens.

That's kuaci sitting on my hand eating kuaci. He was really tiny when we first got him. You should take a look at him now...FAT AND ROUND. He's really picky with food, though. He devours all the sunflower seeds and the corn, but merely sniffs at whatever else is chucked into his bowl. This hamster is also very lan si. That's the look he gives you when you wake him up in the middle of sleep. And if you persist on prodding him up, he'll bite.

Yes, he bites. He's claimed quite a few victims. SiuYook copped the most bites, obviously, because he just can't help disturbing the poor hamster. He tried to bite my fingernail once =.= but obviously it didn't hurt, duh. He's bitten Ah Yang, SiuYook's housemate and also the Chew brothers. Ferocious one, that thing.

Kuaci is also the first and only hamster I know who isn't afraid of heights. He's jumped off the table, the chair, our hands...highest being the height of my urm...belly? Psycho hamster. Other than that, I guess he's a pretty normal hamster. SiuYook didn't realise that hamsters were nocturnal creatures (i.e. they sleep during the day and are active at night) and kept telling me that "kuaci is sucha babi lar..." cuz he's asleep most of the day. Silly.

The first week we got kuaci, SiuYook brought him home to the apartment at Cyber. We were out somewhere and I think someone left his cage open. TJ (the other housemate) had just had a shower and opened the bathroom door to find kuaci strolling past him like it was an everyday affair. *imagine some gentleman taking a stroll on the street, ladeeda* Apparently, kuaci was too sleek and cunning for TJ's grasp and the latter had to catch him with a plastic bag before returning him to the cage. Tsk tsk.

As most of us know, hamsters have short life spans. When my first hamster died, I cried like the world crashed and burned and fell to a bajillion pieces that my evil nemesis hurled into my eyes. Ok, I cried like babi lar. So SiuYook and I were discussing about it and he said...

"Sure or not? Hamsters live about 1 to 2 years nih...then you go to Aus, by the time you come back the hamster is half gone."
...

Walao, that was funny and sadistic. Makes the hamster sound like a can of tuna with shelf life. =p

***

Sorry for the lack of updates. SiuYook will be missing due to an exam-he-hasn't-studied-for coming right up this week. Besides, he was being lazy *thwacks* >=(

SiuYook's list of things to do:
1. Complete Redang posts
2. Link up Kel the cross dresser
3. Send me winzip
4. Study lar...
5. Download Chisato Morishita porn...heh, joking lar =p

My next post will be featuring my two housemates...the dirty French girls. Kinky eh? ;)

till then, much love
